Julie Carpenter is a Research Fellow in the Ethics + Emerging Sciences Group at California Polytechnic State University. Her primary research goal is to investigate human-robot emotional attachment issues, focusing on how these things influence user decision-making in human-robot teamwork or collaborative situations, especially in stressful situations. More broadly, she is interested in people, and their experiences interacting with robots. Her book, Culture and Human-Robot Interaction in militarized spaces: A war story, is based on exploratory research investigating interactions between military Explosive Ordinance Disposal personnel and the robots they use. She can be found on her website, JGCarpenter.com, on Twitter (@jgcarpenter), or on Patreon. Julie first visited with us on Episode 290 - #GotDrone? (published 7/29/2016).
