The police are supposed to protect society. They're on the front lines of one of the hardest jobs in the United States. And yet, with that responsibility should also come accountability. Unfortunately, that isn't always a quality that the police themselves embrace. In some states, including our home state of Illinois, the wiretapping laws have been used to supress criticism of police misconduct and brutality. On this episode, we take a look at some of the cases that have come up about this issue recently and some of the ways that technology has gotten ahead of the law. Recorded 12/8/2011.
